It’s been almost a year since my friend Danielle was diagnosed with MS, and she’s been through more in this one year than some people will ever go through in a life time. She’s taken hit after hit after hit with symptoms ranging from blindness in one of her eyes, to extreme exhaustion, to losing the ability to use her legs. The only concrete thing is that she’s been told she had MS. All of the rest (treatment, outcome, etc) seem to be more experimental than anything.
Danielle is an amazing woman that is a mother of 2 beautiful girls and a wife to an awesome husband (a fun fall session we did last year: http://ohtheplacesthatigo.myfotojournal.com/2011/nov/01/sontag-family/). She is kind, caring, full of life, funny, loving, and an all around awesome human being. It’s been hard to see her go through this this past year.
I’ve done this post a little differently than I had originally planned. Danielle and I went out on a sunny, but chilly, day about a month ago to do a little photo shoot. I had initially planned to use photos from that photo shoot for this post, but instead I’ve chosen a couple of my favorite photos of Danielle that I’ve done, along with just a few from the photo shoot. The above photos were taken last year, and the bottom photos taken from our shoot from a month ago.
I’ve never done any kind of supportive fundraising walk/run/bike before, but felt convicted to do the MS Walk with Danielle this year after seeing how hard she’s struggled, as well as to show her my support. Our team is called PMS (Pretty Mean Sisters) and have raised almost $1100 towards the MS Society and MS research. To pledge money for this walk, and Danielle’s team, please go to: http://mssoc.convio.net/site/TR/MSWalk/AlbertaandNorthwestTerritoriesDivision?team_id=3219&pg=team&fr_id=1306 and click on any of the team members names (mine is there as well) to make a pledge.
